This message was sent out in May, but I wanted to send it our again
because we all need to get this adult women's hockey program going:
Hi everyone,
For those of you that were unable to play on Saturday, things went well
and we had a good turn-out. I hope everyone that was able to play on
Saturday had as much fun as I did. A few aches and pains here and there, but
I am ready to do it again.
As some of you may know, The Civic Center shuts down each year for
reconditioning and maintenance, which gives us until June 10th to organize a
plan to make this a regular thing. In speaking with the rink, they will
offer this only if we buy the sessions in groups. Tentatively, I will book
the same ice slot that we had last week (Saturday afternoon from 4:30-5:45)
for a period of 6 weeks beginning June 10th.
Obviously, the next issue will be financing this. We will need to find at
least 18 people that are willing to commit to paying a share of this six
week session. This would basically be a minimum number for the purposes of
both cost and the need for bodies on the ice. If we can find more than the
minimum, our individual costs would be reduce with each additional member.
Going forward, I need two things and the sooner I can get this organized
the better it will be for all of us.
-
I need a reply from each of you to let me know if you are willing to pay
roughly $60 for this six week session or not.
-
I need help recruiting some more people. Don't be afraid to forward this
to friends and give them my e-mail address.
Again, the cost will be directly tied to our "membership." Committing to
pay your share doesn't necessarily mean that you are committed to skating
all six weeks. It would be safe to assume that most people would probably be
busy at least one or two of those Saturdays so we will definitely need to
have a full group.
