Mentor Youth Hockey Booster Club

Letter from the President

Dan Brannon

Hello Everyone. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. I just want to remind everyone that if you have not done so, to get your application in. The final date for returning players was June 5th and now sign-ups are open to all players. So, hurry and get them in.

I would like to take this time to congratulate a few players from our program who, through their hard work and dedication, showed that Mentor produces some outstanding players. Congratulations go out to Cory Brannon for making the 1993 Bantam Tier 1 AAA Cleveland Phantoms. Nikita Goldman, Jake Sintic and Zack Zuber for making the 1994 Pee-Wee Tier 1 AAA Cleveland Phantoms and Luke Turk for making the Pee-Wee Tier 1 AAA Cleveland Phantoms. For those of you who do know what Tier 1 AAA hockey is, it is the highest level of hockey for children in Mites, Squirts, Pee-Wee's and Bantams to play. The travel for these teams is quite intense, where most of the games are played out of state and against the strongest competition other states have to offer. Good luck to all of you and hope you have a terrific year of hockey. If anyone knows of someone I missed, please forward their information to me and I will get it into the next Ice Chips Newsletter.

I just wanted to give everyone an update as to what is going on with the Mentor Hockey Program. As of right now, we are in desperate need of people to step up and join the Booster Club on the board. We are currently seeking 3 to 5 individuals for these positions. Priscilla Hyclak, Dawn Bokar and Michelle Gerred have all resigned due to their children playing elsewhere. I would personally like to thank each and every one of them and wish them luck in their new endeavors. They are still going to assist the Booster Club as much as they can, but we need other people to step up and help. Remember, that without the Booster Club your fees will go up dramatically due to all the benefits we bring to the club. If you are interested, please contact Dan Brannon at danger24@comcast.net or (440)257-8006

The Booster Club is giving every team 10 hours of extra ice time again. At this time we are not going to ask parents to sell the Discount Cards, but we may change some things and still do it at a later time. We will keep you informed as to what is going on. If you want to see something different or revised, please contact me and let me know.

Again, I ask that if you are able to help with the Booster Club, please get back to me as soon as possible so we can get going on this year. Also, we are asking that if you or someone you know would like to sponsor a team to please contact me. Forms are available for sponsors by e-mail.

Sincerely,

Dan Brannon
